Since the launch of Upload Robots, dozens of users have contacted us with feature requests. Each feature request is read and replied to, and we really appreciate your efforts in helping make Upload Robots better.

The most popular feature requests dealt with file & group organization. We understand if you upload dozens or hundreds of files, preventing clutter is difficult, so we’re going to try to help with a few new features. These features should be implemented within the next week or so.

Minimize & Maximize

Whenever you minimize or maximize a group, the change will be committed to the database. This means that next time you log in, your minimized groups will be shown as minimized by default. This is a useful feature if you have groups you require but don’t touch often.

Sort Files

Soon, as well as being able to drag files between groups, you will be able to drag around files within groups to sort them, allowing you to prioritize important files visually.

Sort Groups

Currently, groups are sorted in the file manager by when they were created. This means if you have important groups that you may have created later, you are forced to scroll down to see/download files in that group. Soon you will be able to drag the title bar of a group and easily sort between your other groups.

We at Upload Robots are very fortunate to have experienced such a warm welcome to the web world. We released bug fixes after our first week, including updates to the blog, minor graphic changes in the file manager and revisions to our upload script.

Our team has been having some fierce discussions, and we have a few features that we have completed, or in the process of completing, to let you know about.

iPhone Application

We have received an inordinate amount of requests for iPhone integration for Upload Robots. We are working on functionality that would allow the user to upload photos from the iPhone directly to our server and be provided with a link. This project is still at an early stage, and we need all the suggestions we can get.

Desktop Application

Upload Robots is, at this moment, purely a web application. Further down the road, we will develop a desktop widget using Adobe Air that would allow the user to simply drag and drop files that would upload straight to your account on Upload Robots. Once again, we’re at an early-enough stage for your suggestions to really make a difference. Get in touch.

Group Sharing

Group sharing is a feature we have just released upon the file manager. The group-share pane will allow you to send a link to several files to be downloaded as a zip, or individually. Log in to your account, and click the group-share icon (located in the top right of the group) to view this new feature.

Upload Robots, the fastest, easiest and safest way to share files on the web, launched yesterday. Our first day was incredible. In just under three hours, we had been featured in 5 CSS galleries, 3 blogs and hundreds of tweets. We had a problem with Google Analytics, so unfortunately, we didn’t manage to catch the exact number of visitors, but judging from the Tweets, blog posts and written feedback, we can safely say it was in the thousands.

We have had so much love from so many people, both myself and the rest of the team are a little overwhelmed.
